What are the courses like?
For distance students the Certificate in CAD Draughting (Level 3) course is based upon six intensive and challenging tutorials, each of four days duration at CAD Training, Rotorua. Tuition is from 8.00am to 4.00pm each day. You will study in a group of up to 15 students with a range of ages and backgrounds. In these sessions your tutor will introduce your group to the content of the course, supervise learning exercises to develop your skills and introduce you to the assessment programme.
In between the monthly tutorials you will need to set aside time each day to work on learning exercises and a range of projects for assessment. Between each tutorial you are required to submit assessments by post or email. Your tutor will contact you regularly to check on your progress and you may email any time or phone during working hours for help and advice.
During the last tutorial each student presents a design project to the tutorial team and class.
Students in the Certificate in CAD Draughting and Design (Level 4) work more independently on larger projects with three, one day tutorials to attend at CAD Training. Assessments are submitted by email, and your tutor will contact you regularly to check on your progress. You may email or phone for help and advice any time during working hours.
